Brighter, more even illumination
The SL-3E now employs brilliant halogen illumination to provide strong, stable lighting for improved observations. The 6V/20W halogen lamp approximates natural illumination for optimum fidelity of the observed image. It also allows for better examination of finer detail than ever before, since its more intense illumination allows for the use of smaller slit apertures for greater image clarity. Longer lamp life and more consistent illumination over the life of the lamp are additional advantages of this halogen system.

A new smoothness in control
The Topcon omni-directional joystick simplifies positioning and alignment, making control over every dimensional adjustment effortless, quick and easy.

Slit beam inclination
Added versatility in gonioscopy and funduscopy is provided by the capability to incline the SL-3E as much as 20° from the observational axis. This oblique illumination capability also permits horizontal optical sections to be obtained.

Four built-in filters
The SL-3E comes with four filters built into the illumination columm, and easily inserted into the light path by a quick change lever. The filtration choices include: cobalt blue, red-free, 13% neutral density and heat-absorbing.

Continuous adjustment of slit length and width
Both slit length and width are continuously adjustable, length from 1 to 8mm, width from 0 to 9mm; a rotating collar allows quick establishment of fixed apertures at 0.2, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8 and 9mm.

Precise angular measurements
An angular measurement scale is engraved on the SL-3E housing to simplify the fitting of astigmatic contact lenses.

Continuous adjustment of illumination and overload function
Continuous illumination control is available with the rheostat knob which is located near the joystick. A special trigger button on the joystick maximizes intensity when it is pressed. This function allows you to observe aqueous flare and other anterior inflammation much easier.
